Fundamental Ground Rules
Lor-Jon Montessori School is founded on the sound principals and ideals that every person deserves respect. Children and adults are encouraged to demonstrate kindness, courtesy, and respect toward fellow students, parents, staff, and school environment. The goal of early child education is to establish safe, warm, and caring environments. We strive to teach students positive and appropriate ways to handle situations, and avoid the use of punishment as a means of dealing with misbehavior. The children learn to develop a strong sense of self-discipline, responsibility, and courtesy creating an atmosphere conducive to peaceful activity. When anyone at L-J finds it difficult to meet the school’s expectations of positive interpersonal conduct, every effort is made to bring the student, family, and staff together to achieve a solution.
